My friend and I wanted have dinner somewhere close by after the Michael Allen Harrison concert in the little church. It was dark outside but the exterior made us question our choice. But we were pleasantly surprised! We were greated immediately by two friendly young ladies and chose where we sat. I had the halibut dinner and my friend had the New York steak dinner. The food was delicious! It was prepared very well, in fairly large portions, and served hot for a reasonable price. I am going back soon.

We stopped here for happy hour. The wedge salad was great and I'll definitely come back for that. Happy hour nachos could have been better. I ordered them with no meat and asked for extra cheese instead of the meat. If that was extra cheese I'd hate to see the regular amount. I'm sure that if you ordered them with meat the cheese and meat would balance. I'm guessing the chef just neglected to put extra cheese on my vegetarian version. The burger my friend had was good and the service was very attentive, even when they got busy. They don't have glasses (12 oz) of beer, only pints (16oz). So, if you're a light drinker like me you'll pay more. That probably won't apply to most folks. All in all we enjoyed Jarboe's and the negatives were minor.

Wanted to try breakfast here. Wait staff was nice but slow. Not a big deal on a Sunday. More than 5 min for drink ask. No water provided or offered. No big deal. Ordered breakfast. Food quality was good but absolutely cold. Got my plate order wrong. We ordered with Toast that did not come. Once wait staff acknowledged. Said toast was too blond. Once brought to table clearly was reposted and hardened. Bummer. Want to say good things. But the experience was what it was. Our town Dennys is better.

The man who is always behind the counter in the morning (I'm kind of assuming its the owner) when I come in is really kind and attentive. I buy a small workers breakfast every morning and he remembers me and makes a point about asking how I've been. Great great service.

Went there for breakfast on sunday oct 5 around 11 a m.the yolk on my eggs Benedict was hard so I asked for another one...my "get even" one was 2 raw eggs not poached at all and how do you screw up hashbrowns?they did.my husband's breakfast burrito was dripping with grease and had no flavor.i don't know what happened to that place as we used to like it there.they jacked the prices up too.i couldn't believe the server even served it to us.wont be back

I’ve been getting the fish and chips here for a while and they used to be great, but now the portion is about half the size and $23. I was still hungry after. The taste is great, but honestly not worth the price anymore. Pretty disappointed since this used to be my go-to.

Went there with my daughter. She had a Reuben, and wasn’t all that excited about it not enough meat. I however had what they called breaded prawns but they’re actually like beer battered prawns. They’re the best prawns I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely delicious. Their fries are good. The service was great. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Food was AMAZING!!! besr chowder and burger I've had in ages!! But, a couple drawbacks. The tables are made of metal, and leave a metallic smell on my hands. Tables are a fail in my book, and they're covered in stains and they look outdated. Service was mediocre. Also one of the booths at our table was broken and nearly had our family member fall on the floor. S The way our server was acting was strange. Slurring words. Idrk what's going on, but I didn't like it. That's what I experienced. I most likely would go back for the food, but not the service unless it improves.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch today with our dog. I had the Cobb salad, and my wife had a chopped salad. The Cobb was the best I’ve eaten in a long time. The other salad was just as good. The beer battered fries were fantastic. Our dog Maddie enjoyed her pupappuccino very much. We will be back with friends and family very soon

Arrived at 11:45am and there were 5 people in the diner 2 of which had eaten already, me and my coworker requested mozzarella sticks and put in our lunch order at the same time as the appetizer.
At about 25min later our burgers were brought out to us minus the mozzarella sticks.
Frustrating yes but as long as I don't pay for them it is what it is.
I take a bite of my fries and noticed something stringy and don't think much of it until the second fry when I see long hair cooked into the fry itself, I attempt to address this with the waitress who walks away from me im guessing unaware there was an issue so I address it with the manager who noticed there was an issue as I'm holding a fry at the bar, they both apologize and offer to bring me new fries and the waitress tries to take the fries and the burger back but I just request new fries due to time constraints, I get fresh fries and take them to go as I had already been there 45min, they discounted 3 dollars and change for the fries I left a tip still and we went back to work and later that evening into the following day I started to exhibit symptoms of food poisoning.
I was really hoping I had found a great bar and grill but as it stands I will not be returning.
I am however quite jealous of the people posting the amazing reviews shortly and almost at the same time the day after my coworker left his review of this establishment.

What an amazing experience! We had a large group with lots of kids and there was plenty of table space to sprawl out and enjoy some adult conversations. The menu offered plenty of delicious options without being overwhelming. The breakfast burrito with hash browns was awesome. Our server Skylar had a great, friendly personality, super prompt, and never missed a beat. The new manager is turning this place into a gem worth the drive!

Oh where do I start let's start with the 25 minutes for two cheeseburgers with an empty restaurant. Hair baked right into the fries for full flavor and it wasn't just one it was four or five fries with actual hair. Waiter was short with us never took our order on paper. We ordered mozzarella sticks never got them and discounted us $3.80 for the hair in the food. My burger had so much barbeque sauce on it you couldn't taste anything else but the barbecue sauce buns were dry and falling apart. this was my first time being there and I will never go back what joke

Traditional diner style. Very good service from the waitress. She was nice and attentive. We definitely appreciated that! Food was definitely diner style and VERY salty. Smaller portions, which is not really diner style, but it was okay. If you're looking for just some nice, salty, comfort food this is probably your place. Unfortunately the mashed potatoes were completely cold all the way through, but they did have good flavor and the gravy was warm so I was able to stir it into the mashed potatoes to correct the matter without getting help. I had kind of hyped myself up for this place, which is my fault I guess, so I was a little bit disappointed in the food. Overall in general however, I'm going to go back to definitely try their breakfast food. All the reviews rave about the breakfast food not the dinner food, so definitely going to try breakfast there! Hopefully it's better and I can ask them to lay back on the salt.

We're doing a happy hour study. Can say w assurance that Jarboe's ranks high. Prime rib quesadilla was super yum, tequila sunrise only $5. We also split an above average Reuben sandwich. Server was adorable. Atmosphere down home; this place does not aspire to Portland hip-ness. Yet the menu is smart and in some ways surprising, and Bourdain is quoted prominently above the bar. Look fwd to a return visit.

I'm visiting family and Jarboe's was able to accommodate seating for ten! Most of the adults got the halibut and chips and we all thought it was great. The kids got burgers and the portions were full size burgers and all the kids had plenty to eat. We definitely enjoyed our lunch here and would go again.

We got a chicken alfredo, burger and clam chowder. They all exceeded my expectations. They did not scrimp on the protein in any of the dishes. About as good a burger as I would expect. We dine here quite often, tried the tacos Monday night they were tasty but cold. No big deal anyone can have an off day. Went this morning for breakfast "as advertised on Facebook" only two people working which translates to slow service. They had no jelly or jam for toast. We won't be returning.

Stopped and had lunch at Jarboe's with a friend. I had the prime rib dip sandwich. The meat was flavored well and tasty but there were very few peppers and onions on the sandwich. It was overall good but not outstanding. My friend had a burger which she thought was good but a little greasy. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall not a bad lunch and we will probably try it again sometime.

We have ate here at least four times. My only real complaint is every time we have had a soup with dinner, the soup has been served barely Luke warm. I have had to ask to have it reheated everytime. Then it is hot. I do not know why someone in the kitchen cannot think to check or make sure the soup is hot to begin with.

Second visit and the service was stellar both times. The food is overpriced, but tasty and that's kinda what you get these days. I'd recommend skipping the HH menu. With 3 HH items, 3 drinks, and a sandwich it was over $60 +tip (and the service was so good that it's a big tip).

First time my husband ate here was shortly after opening and we were so impressed. Food was great and so was the service. We really looked forward to eating here again a a month or two ago and had the worst service. We waited about 20 minutes just to have our drink order taken, we waited close to an hour for our food after order were taken and when we got the food it was barely warm and underwhelming. The waitress felt bad and ended up giving us a $50 gift card for our next visit. Finally gave it another go the other night. It was very slow and we waited a very long time for our drinks, we never got our ordered appetizer and the service was not good. For it being as slow as it was and for how many people appeared to be on staff and just standing around we expected much better service. Food was okay, but not worth the price.

I've been to Jarboe's many times since they have opened and have been impressed more and more each time. I really enjoyed the steak I ordered. Great quality cut of meat and very reasonable price! Cant wait to try the prime rib!

Went to have lunch and walk out. Was seated and order taken in a reasonable amount of time but waiting 30 minutes for a hamburger and sandwich is ridiculous. Since folks who came in after us were served their food. The waitress excuse was they had a large group. Doesn’t explain how someone who came in after us got theirs.

Update: came in Friday night very busy....we got the fish and tots, very good. My bf got the meatloaf and loved it. The appetizers scampi was great, the pickles were not however.
Overall, I will aim for the next visit to be on a live music night!

Been in a number of times for casual dinners, lunch, birthday dinners, and we've never been disappointed. Whenever I ask my kids where they want to go to dinner, they usually say Jarboe's.

Quite an improvement over how it was before under previous management. New management has spent 9 months remodeling the place. It is no longer dark and dingy looking. The food is excellent. Will be returning to try out other menu options. Excellent selection of local beers and ciders. Live music every Saturday.

Not a fan. Prices reflect a nice restaurant, however not the case. Had to clean dried food off my table, swat flies away while eating, was provided a pile of forks on a stack of napkins, water is served in plastic tumblers, my fish wasn't cooked all of the way through and by the time our server came back around everyone was done eating. The staff was friendly. I won't be returning.

I am so happy I found this place! I googled "food near me still open" while waiting on a door dash order pickup. Most places were closing or already closed, thankfully Jarboe's was open til 10pm. I called my order in and ordering was quick and efficient. The menu looks like there are only two sides to choose from, but the hostess was kind enough to list them all. Baked potato 🥔, mashed potatoes, fries, tots, cajun tots (so good! 😋), salad, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I was greeted right away when I got there, and despite being earlier than the 15 minutes she gave me, my food was ready when I got there. Can you believe my Cajun chicken burger and tots was only $14?! Such a steal, it was delicious! 😋

We visited during a class reunion so our experience was not ideal. Food was good. Salad was cold and very fresh. Worth another visit. I did not care for the specialty cocktails. They were a little out of balance and could use some tweaking.

A group of us celebrated our 40th Class Reunion 8/12/23. The Jarboe’s Grill staff was amazing and so responsive to our needs. The food was delish and Travis, the restaurant manager was amazing to work with. There new space is perfect for a larger gathering. If you want to plan a holiday, get together in the future, Jarboe’s’s is the place to go!

This was a decent place to stop for dinner. My husband thourghrouly enjoyed his grilled Halibut and the spinach artichoke dip was on point! My prime rib French dip unfortunately wasn't as good as I was hoping, but it was still alright. The fries were really good as well. I would visit here again.

Best steak within 15 miles of Oregon City! I've been on a mission since I started at my new job to find a decent steak place nearby. So far pretty much everything in OC has been a total dud, but this is less than 15 minutes away, and is REALLY good steak. I had the Ribeye and it was well cooked, PRIME grade (no one else in the area serves Prime), and decently priced. Cocktails were great too. This is my new go to spot for long lunches!
Update: Went back recently, and still very impressed! Still great steak and a good selection of whiskey.

I am impressed! I visit Jarboes a few years ago with a promise to never return. My fiance suggested we have dinner there because he heard of it's remodel. There was plenty of parking but I was a little confused on where to enter. Entering Jarboes I was surprised. It was so clean, it had a brighter fresher and modern look. We were greeted 2 times and told to seat ourselves wherever we liked. We were escorted to out table near the video poker machines. The prices seemed a little high but oh so worth it. I had the steak and blue cheese salad (strongly suggest) it was so yummy. We played video poker and won $100. Our waitress was Maria. Total doll. She answered all our questions, was always smiling, she checked on us about 4 times. Way to go Maria on the customer service. We will be returning. Finally a place in Canby that is nice with great food. All other servers were polite and professional. Great team! Thank you Jarboes for a great experience.

Awesome staff!! Couldn't be more knowledgeable and friendly, particularly our main server John W. But others were all quick and friendly. Made you feel relaxed & comfortable. Food is very good! Whoever Hank the owner is, he obviously cares about his staff and clients. Thanks so much. This is our first, but by no means last visit.

Food was delicious. My husband and my dad had the fish and chips. Big pieces of fish really really nice. I have the steak and strawberry salad that I had it with chicken instead and it was delicious. The kids menu was great. Definitely worth the price and the service was great.

This place is right off the highway and a place I used to just drive by all the time. We finally stopped for dinner on a Friday evening after work. You can tell the locals eat here and the inside is warm and welcoming. Family friendly, fast and great service. The food was great! I tried the prime rib and it was huge! Definitely recomed stopping by. TVs for sports. Bathrooms were clean! They have a small arcade area for kids. They have vegan and gluten free options as well

Dinner date with the Hubs. Service was excellent! Cadillac margaritas were da bomb! I had the grilled halibut, I recommend the sauce on the side....grilled asparagus was a bit too buttery. Hubs had the pork shank, tender and flavorful, carrots could have been cooked just another minute or so. Not as many as booths as there are table and chairs... I prefer cushy booths. A little pricey. Will return

Such a treat to eat at Jarboe’s. It’s hard to try new places when I need to avoid gluten, but here they have a gluten free bun, a few salad options that can be made gluten free, as well as steak, salmon etc. I ordered the chicken salad, and it was delightful. The atmosphere is clean, updated and interesting, with great music played at not too loud of a level. The service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. You should definitely give them a try. They will be your new favorite too.

We were a large group in for a birthday party the service was good but one party had to go to the bar to refill their drink and one had fettuccine alfredo that tasted like soap was in it. Several others in the group tried it and it made them gag. Fortunately the manager came back and replaced it with a dinner to go as we were ready to leave. Everyone else in the group enjoy their food.

Went for lunch today. Pretty good. My wife had the French dip and I had the turkey bacon croissant. We both liked our sandwiches but my fries were a little undercooked and she mentioned that her ice tea wasn’t a good one. Overall pretty good and will probably come back and try a dinner

My Dad decided to take everyone out for his wife's 60th here and from what it sounds is a new restaurant; likely still getting its footing.
Anywhere I go that has a Philly cheese steak on the menu I tend to get that and have no complaints. What I didn't expect is that the fries would best the main course. I don't know what the other people reviewing them were eating, but I would consider those fries the best in the immediate area. I could tell they were made of whole potatoes on-site and didn't come in a bag (like some cookie-cutter restaurants), and had an ideal balance of fullness, as though you were eating steak fries and layered crispiness that came off like they were beer-battered instead of fried.
It's not clear whether they had enough staff -- given the current job climate -- but the waitress forgot to ask at least me -- if not another at our table -- if we wanted a beverage, after only asking a few of us. Perhaps she was tired as it was a Sunday afternoon.
We were parked in front of an enormous T.V. and it's not clear what kind of identity the place is going for -- because of its wide-ranging menu -- but if 'sports bar' is in the equation, then it would be good to have someone on staff who is aware of events that are taking place (any given day) and be sure those are already on prior to the game starting, particularly with a setup that looks like it is made to host sporting events. Any place can be absentminded about that. An establishment that isn't will stick out (over time). 😌

Great experience tonight! Everyone was SO friendly! The environment was genuinely comfortable, and we were treated like old friends. I was just what I hoped it would be. I wanted a cocktail the bar tender hadn’t heard of (Sweet Tart Martini)…we googled it together and she made it so deliciously, I had to order a second one! We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese to start, they were great! For dinner I ordered the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and Tots, also delicious! Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent service and food quality was great. Eight of us went to Happy Hour and their menu was one of the best I have seen. The place was packed and you can see why. Interior has been remodeled, so don’t let the exterior fool you.

I got some Togo food from them on Wednesday and the fish and chips well worth it awesome. My wife got the chicken Alfredo and she said it was awesome....kids meals were supposed to come with a side and they did not. Not to upset about it cause they were extremely busy and still trying to figure out the computer. Took about 35min to get the food not that big of a deal cause I had a couple of drinks while I waited.
I can't give partial stars but I would give it 4.5 just cause of the kids meal was missing it's sides. Nice to have another food option in Canby!!!
